GO Campaign supports Local Heroes in their mission to give all children the opportunity to access education, medical care, shelter, food, clean water, and a fair chance at life. Power Life’s sponsorship of GO Campaign goes to support their mission to give opportunity to thousands of children worldwide — from East L.A. to East Africa.
GO Campaign improves the lives of orphans and vulnerable children around the world by partnering with pioneering Local Heroes to deliver local solutions. We believe that every child deserves the right to opportunity…opportunity to education, medical care, shelter, food, clean water and a fair chance in life. Over the past several months, we have been closely monitoring and evaluating the situation around COVID-19 to ensure we are taking the necessary measures to protect the health and wellbeing of our partners. We have granted more than $175,000 in emergency funding to help ensure the world’s most vulnerable children are safe, healthy and fed during these unprecedented times.
You are helping us feed thousands of children from South Central L.A. to South Africa, you are helping us provide masks and sanitizer to at-risk communities, and you are helping vital local organizations keep their staff paid as they provide critical services to youth during this economic shut down.
GirlForward
Camp GirlForward is an 8-week program that offers mentorship, friendship, and a safe space for adolescent refugee girls in Austin, Texas. This program is tailored to each individual’s needs, offering mentorship in life skills such as interviewing and applying for jobs. This summer program helps prepare girls to enter school in the US and pairs them up with a mentor who will work with them and support them throughout the academic year. With this support, girls can more easily adjust to life in the US, meeting the demands of their school, and gain support from other peers who are experiencing similar circumstances.
Spring of Hope School
GO Campaign helped build a school, and purchase furniture and supplies for The Spring of Hope School in Cambodia. This school was created to support Cham youth. The Cham are a minority group in Cambodia that have experienced discrimination and limited access to education and employment opportunities. With GO’s help, Cham youth in Cambodia learn English, which will increase their chances of being admitted to universities and obtaining employment.
The Music School of Cateura
GO Campaign helped build a classroom for The Music School of Cateura in Paraguay, led by Favio Chavez. The school, which started in a shed, grew very quickly. Now, more children have the opportunity to learn, practice, and enjoy music. In addition to music education, all participants must be enrolled and attending school to participate in the music program. The goal is to develop students’ love of music as well as support their academic progress.
